ARE YOUR BLESSINGS DELAYED?

“God when, God when” ,does this sound familiar? How many times have these words come out of your mouth while waiting for the ” blessing” you have been earnestly praying for? Many times, we pray ,and just about beg God to bless us in areas of promotion and exaltation. We pray for business deals, leadership roles, contracts, and better job offers to go through, but what happens when it seems like God is not answering? Well, I have a question worth pondering; have you been faithful with the little things God has entrusted to you first ? In Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” No matter how small or tedious something may seem, can you be honest and say yes?
WHAT DOES GOD THINK?
In the waiting stages of promotion, we must be careful not to become lax that we begin to treat what we once looked at as important ,to now being deemed as unimportant. We may fail to realize that any form of neglection, can have the possibility of delayed blessings. Again, when you think about your promotion pray request, have you done EVERYTHING required to align yourself up for the next level? A lot of times, when the blessing is taking longer to manifest, we become impatient while thinking were waiting on God, but what if God was actually waiting on you? Impossible right, but it may be true. Sometimes we develop tunnel vision while trying to get to a place called “there”, by losing focus in the little things. When our focus is lost, it is very possible to overlook the most important step, which was to remain faithful with the little God entrusted you with first. While it could seem like something worth not committing to, please understand that faithfulness is worth everything to God. God does things in order, which means, he covers all steps, the big and small ones. If God has entrusted you with something that seems so meniscal in your eyes, he is watching to see how faithful you are with it ; how you treat situations when no one is watching, how you respond when things aren’t going your way or how you are behaving while waiting. We must know before God promotes us, he is more concerned with our character, the person we are becoming in the process, and our obedience. If were not faithful with the little, how can God trust us with the big things that he truly wants to bless us with. So when you’re praying about your business increasing, have you been faithful with the customers you currently have by displaying great customer service and patience? Or maybe you have been praying for more teaching opportunities, have you been faithful to tutor the students you currently have or do you make excuses when you don’t “feel like it”? Again, it all starts with being faithful towards the little things first that is ultimately preparing you for the next big things. Show God he can trust you with more!
REVELATION
I remember a season in my life when I desperately wanted a bigger apartment; daily I prayed about it heavily ! I began to feel boxed in and I lost all interest and love for the small apartment I once so loved. But can I be honest and say, I wasn’t taking care of the apartment I had. While waiting on the “blessing”, I failed to keep it clean and organized because I was so caught up in complaining about it. After becoming so tired of walking pass an unorganized messy place, I made up my mind to clean it up, and not just partially clean it, but to super clean it. Once I was finished, to my surprise, I actually fell back in love with my small apartment. I then saw my apartment with new eye gates and everything I didn’t like about it , I began to see the beauty in it again; however, I couldn’t see the beauty when it was a complete mess. Once I had a ready mindset to tackle and attend to what I had , God was able to move on my behalf, and that he did! It seemed as though once my perspective changed, not only did God move on my behalf, he did it suddenly! Before I knew it, I was packing up to move into my bigger apartment. After reflecting on the situation, I received the hard revelation, that I was the one holding up my own blessing! The thought of me being the problem really took me by surprise because I couldn’t blame God; as harsh as that sounds, it was true. I was the problem holding up my own blessing by not being faithful with the little I had.
GOD’S LONGS TO BLESS YOU
The lesson I learned was completely life changing. Since then, I have indeed noticed a shift in my life while waiting for new blessings of promotion; knowingly that God is watching and he will reward me. Scripture even says in 2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him”. How amazing is it to know we serve a God whom looks around to show himself strong in the lives of faithful people. So the question remains, have you truly aligned yourself up to be blessed by being faithful with the little first? Let me encourage you today to continue to press in and remain faithful even when it seems like nothing is happening or the little is not paying off. God sees all and he will reward you for your faithfulness; let not your heart be discouraged. By doing so, I can assure you your blessing will be completely more than you could have ever imagined. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”, Ephesians 3 :20 .
